Artificial Intelligence’s Aid in Diagnosing Alzheimer’sDisease

Alzheimer’s disease is a brain disorder that gradually destroys memory and thinking skills and is the most common cause of dementia among older adults. It results from the progressive degeneration of brain cells and can affect the ability of people to carry out simple tasks. Diagnosis of AD can only be made with certainty through an autopsy after death, making the disease extremely hard for medical experts to detect and understand. Although it is nearly impossible to diagnose the disease definitively, Artificial Intelligence shows great potential in helping clinicians better understand a patient's brain condition and spotting and analyzing any brain deformity the patient may have. This paper explores how Artificial Intelligence can revolutionize the process of Alzheimer’s disease and proposes a diagnosis roadmap as a method doctors can use when assessing a patient’s brain health.
